Jari Hakala - Landscape Photography
The FAVM is delighted to present the wonderful seasonal photography of Jari Hakala as one of a series of virtual exhibitions focusing on the many different visual aspects of Finland and North America. Some people have stereotyped the Finnish countryside as being fairly flat and covered with birch and pine trees and small lakes. While it is true, it is a gross generalization. Jari’s photographs dramatically challenge that simplistic point of view by presenting a much more intimate and sensitive vision of the very rich and continually changing natural environment. Jari was born 1959 in Naantali in southwest of Finland a short distance from Turku, where he now lives. He works in the video production business as a photographer, editor and animator. “As a photographer, I am interested in photographic light where ever I can find it. When shooting, I often focus on details and tell stories with several pictures. I often shoot nature in the Finnish archipelago, which is quite unique.” To learn more about Jari Hakala and his inspired photographic artwork, go to http://www.kolumbus.fi/hakala.j Hakala — Virtual Gallery |
